Yesterday I was going through my son's papers he brought home from school. One was a poster he made about Hercules when they were studying Greek and Roman Gods/mythology. He drew Hercules choking a lion and wrote a few facts about Hercules. I noticed the bubble he had drawn coming out of Hercules mouth said, "I must complete this task." I thought, I don't remember that being what he wrote; I thought he wrote DIE!; that doesn't look like his regular hand writing; and what 9 year old boy says "I must complete this task"? Upon closer inspection I noticed his original very bold font of DIE! was whited out and I laughed. If you're going to ask a class to study violent stories you can bet that's what they are going to draw on their posters. His teacher totally asked for that one! I asked Isaac about it and he told me his teacher made him white it out because it wouldn't be appropriate to say things like that in school and suggested something like "I must complete this task", he couldn't think of anything better so that's what he wrote... in his very best handwriting. His creativity doesn't seem to be crushed.

I hope you had a fantastic Earth Day yesterday! It is still too early to plant anything so we didn't do anything to celebrate, but our sandbox did. It sprouted sunflowers! Things are actually beginning to grow. We also had a couple of crocus bloom last week. I planted a whole bunch of bulbs in the lawn a couple of years ago hoping they would take off and naturalize adding some spring cheer to an otherwise dull yellow lawn, and this year two blossomed.

We got a bid on my renovation plans and it is out of our desired price range. We are back to square one, but I hear birds chirping, and the sun is out, the outdoors are calling to me with things to do...so until next winter when I'm going crazy again, we'll survive.

Happy Spring! My new picture for the month was taken last year around the end of March, but yesterday and today have looked about the same so you'd never know. My littlest is feeling sick today so I won't spend much time writing. I have been spending my time lately cleaning out my house and seriously thinking about my remodel plans. I have most of it drawn out to scale, but one thing depends on a cold air return for me to decide for sure if I need a wall bumped out 4', 2', or not at all. I have my upstairs rooms cleaned out and organized for the most part and now I am working on the main floor. I'm trying to think of a way to get rid of half the toys we have without anyone noticing. I know, it isn't possible. Don't send me any sarcastic comments of "I hope that works for you" like the person in front of me in the checkout line when she saw all of my storage containers in my cart. I can do it! I will prove to America that bigger is not better! Excess is not success! I'm going to start an architectural revolution! Okay, you might be thinking if I really felt that way, and given the state of the economy, I would just be happy with what I have and not want to remodel. Keep those snide remarks to yourself. Besides, that's not how revolutions get started.
