What's on my mind?

I am now on facebook.  If I haven't found you then find me and friend me.  I did it because Ana is on facebook so I kind of wanted to keep tabs.  I have to be honest- I'm not too sure I like facebook.  I don't like looking at my facebook page because to me it looks likes a cluttered mess.  Is there a way to change that?  I'm thinking I like my blog better so don't be disappointed if I don't say much on my facebook page.  Maybe I will get the hang of it after awhile. 
A couple of days ago I was yet again reminded of a general difference between boys and girls.  Isaac was helping fold the laundry and wondered if a blouse of Ana's should go in the ironing pile or not.  "Can this blouse go in the ironing pile?  It looks like if you tried to iron it, it would just catch on fire."  Me, "I don't think her shirt is wrinkly so you don't need to put it in the ironing pile.  I am pretty sure it will not suddenly burst into flame if it gets touched by the iron.  If anything, depending on what it is made of it will probably just melt if you have the iron too hot.  Just fold it and put it in her pile of clothes."  Isaac, "Oh Mom; look at this, this fabric is really light and thin and looks like a perfect fire starting shirt.  If I was lost in the wilderness and had to build a fire and there was nothing else to use I would totally use this shirt to get a fire started."

Halloween at the Park

I had way to many SPAM Museum photos so here's a second post with the park photos.  Henry is a dog, William one of those ninjas (his friend is the other matching one), and the adorable mushroom is our neighbor.

MEA Weekend

The kids had school off and Brian had vacation time he needed to use up so we spent Thursday cleaning rooms, homework, yardwork, that kind of stuff.  Friday we went to the SPAM museum and then when we got back we went for a family run to the park (walk for me).  Saturday was another day kind of like Thursday.  Brian cleaned out the cars, we cleaned out the garage, and I took Henry and William to a Halloween party at a park in town with some neighbor friends. The weather was amazing this weekend!  I really hope we still get a few more days in the 60's before we permanently hit freezing mode (but now we are ready if we do-at least outside- everyone needs new boots).
Sunday was eventful in that I have new calling/job at church.  1st counselor in Relief Society.  I'm feeling a little naive for saying yes at this point, not having any idea how this will impact our family or time, but God knows better than I do what is best for me and our family and what we are capable of and what we need to learn.  I am going to miss being in primary- it is a happy place with very minimal problems and lots of singing and smiling.  I also loved being William's teacher.  It was nice to have some one on one (sort of) time with him.  I am very excited though, to get to work with the women in Relief Society.  The President seems like a really, and I mean really amazing person.  I am feeling like God really loves me and has put me with some fantastic people to learn from.  When I was in the Primary presidency (secretary) I worked with some very loving and inspired women and now again when I am in a presidency I get to work with some very loving and inspired women.  I feel blessed for that.

Here's a few (okay lots) pics from the museum.  Honestly I was a little mad Brian wanted to take a 2hr. drive to a museum on a very gorgeous day, but I relented since it is his vacation day.  I would have rather gone for a walk in the woods or to a corn maze or to the pumpkin patch, or to the apple orchard and saved the museum for a colder day.  I'm hoping the weather is nice this week and maybe I will take myself and Henry on on one of those journeys since Kindergarten gets the day off Thursday and Friday.
