5,000 miles+ part 6

8/5/14
This day was relaxing for William and Henry.  :-)  I'm not sure how they spent their time with Grandma Nancy.  Brian, Ana, Isaac, and I went with Ben, his fiance Jayden, and her sister to visit the USU campus.  We had a nice time with them.  After that we headed to Kaysville with my mom and William and Henry.  My sister Melissa threw Jayden a shower.  I'm really glad she did it while I was there.  It was fun to meet Jayden and her mom and sister and it was great to see a few relatives.  Brian took my boys and Melissa's boys to a nearby park to play.  After the shower we had dinner with Melissa and then headed over to the Ogden temple open house on our way back to Brigham City.
I took a bunch of pictures of my mom's fruit trees.  That might be weird to some people, but I thought they were pretty. :-)

This is Henry photobombing my photo of the grass (I wasn't really going to photograph the grass- but I suppose you never know with me)

5,000+miles part 5

8/4/14
This day was Spencer and Michelle's wedding day. :-)  Spencer is Brian's brother.  We arrived at a cabin in Brighton the evening before and stayed the night.  It was a great evening spent with Brian's dad, Jeff, Melissa and her daughter VerlaNorah, Barry and his girlfriend Maggie, Spencer and his daughter Riahn, and Michelle and her family.  It was great to see all of them.  It was a lot fun to meet Michelle's family and Maggie.  Everyone had a great time together and got a long so well.  It was great :-).  Spencer and Michelle seem so good for each other, we are so happy for them.
Monday morning the kids played together and we helped set up a few things for the wedding and reception.  We had a nice lunch from Red Iguana and the kids and I took a very short hike in the woods.  The wedding was wonderful. :-)  The reception was a lot fun.  It was great to see so many friends that I haven't seen in a very long time.

5,000+miles part 4

8/3/14
Provo, UT-->Brighton, UT
Sunday we had a great day visiting Michael, Lili, and Gus.  I had never met Gus in person yet and he is 10 months old already!  We went to church with Michael and his family and then we met up with a friend from our ward at BYU.  It was great to see Gabby :-).  She is so awesome.  She showed us around BYU campus a bit along with Michael.  Michael showed us a lot of the art department places since that is where he spends most of his time.  He's going to school there and teaching a few classes.  Michael has some cool stuff going on. :-)  He also showed us the Pixar section because Henry wants to work for Disney & Henry appreciated that.  Thank you for sharing with us. We all had such a great time.  I wish we could have stayed longer.  We also kinda got a kick out of the guy stopped by saying he used to live in Michael's place and thought maybe he left some glasses and wondered if he could check the cupboard...a little weird.
After visiting we drove to our next stop, Brighton.

5,000+ miles part 3

8/2/14
Colorado Springs, CO-->Grand Junction, CO-->Goblin Valley, UT-->Provo, UT
Roughly 10 1/2 hrs driving time
We had a wonderful pancake breakfast with Wendy's family then enjoyed a beautiful drive through the mountains to the other side of Colorado.  Steep winding roads, tunnels, trains, bicycles, red dirt...;-)

We had a wonderful visit with my Grandma Sharp (my dad's mom), my Aunt Cathy and my Uncle Dick.  They made us a delicious lunch.  It's been a long time since we've seen them too.  Maybe only a couple years instead of 21 though.  My grandma has these really cool little pots of plants that she also adds rocks and tiny things to make them like miniature worlds.  William and Henry loved looking at them and her show them all of the ones she made.  they might make some too.  I really enjoyed our visit.
Grand Junction Colorado (I took this photo on my cellphone & it turned kinda really cool)

After visiting we decided to take a detour to Goblin Valley on our way to Provo.  I had never been before and thought the kids would really enjoy it.  We had a lot of fun.  There aren't any specific trails and it's okay to climb on the hoodoos (rock formations) and meander wherever you'd like in the park area.
first "selfie"- since no one ever takes pictures of me (because I have the camera)

We stayed an hour or so and then needed to get back on the road.  It would have been easy to stay longer though.  Our last stop for the day was still few hours away to my brother Michael's.
Unicorn buffalo cloud...kind of in the center, running towards the right.  By the time I took the photo it started to spread out a little.
