Day 9-13

June 18.  We relaxed, did the laundry (Brian fixed the washing machine- I love him), swapped photos ( I took almost 700-sheesh!), and my sister went shopping while I prepared my Sunday lesson for the 7 year old class.  Someone along the line who last taught the class I'm teaching lost the story cut outs of Alma the Younger so I "had" to make my own.  Brian eventually found them for me online, but by then I had already started making my own, and he had to admit maybe my extra and time consuming efforts were worth it because mine turned out funner. ;)
Alma the Younger and his friends convinced others to do bad things

Alma the Younger's dad (the leader of God's church in the Americas in 100 BC) and his friends' dad (the king) were very sad to see this happening

An angel came and spoke to them; Alma the Younger and his friends were so surprised

Alma the Younger was so surprised he could not move or talk and his friends had to carry him home

Alma the Younger repented (the theme of the lesson)

He became a missionary and taught people the truth

Day 10.  June 19.  My sister and her family left.  Early.  I didn't think they actually would leave early even though they said so.  It was a fun time while they were here, but life keeps going so we have to too.  My family went to church, shared Happy Father's Day gifts (tie of course, custom made mouse pad, custom made coasters (he tried to save some cardboard ones from a restaurant because he needed one at work), a custom made desk calendar, and an upgraded cell phone), dinner, dishes, regular stuff.  Brian also skyped with his family.
Day 11.  June 20. Isaac had cross country practice.  Ana had "Scrubs Camp" where she has been learning about the medical career field.  This day they mostly did first aid.  She came out smiling huge (haven't seen that much excitement on her face in awhile).  Laundry.  Cleaned house a bit.  Begged William and Henry to clean their room to no avail.  Henry's soccer.  Dinner.  Dishes.  Scriptures.  Prayers.  Found out the garage door needs repairing and so does a sprinkler in the yard.
Day 12.  June 21.  Cross Country.  Scrubs camp (tour of the hospital, gave each other casts- huge smile with arm in a cast).  Attempted to accomplish errands- didn't get many done.  Checked emails.  Dinner.  Dishes.  Scriptures. Prayers.  Brian fixed the garage door.
Day 13.  June 22.  Cross Country.  Scrubs Camp (dissecting pig hearts and lungs- big smiles again).  Gave up on getting William and Henry to clean their room. Gave up on trying to get any errands done or restocking the fridge. I'll try again later.  Blogged; pretty much all day.  Back to regular stuff and not so much scenic things.  It was kind of fun to have my sister here thinking how all the regular stuff was so cool- "Wow!  Your Target is way better than ours!  Wow!  This your library?  Wow!  This is where you walk your dog everyday?  There's a lake with herons!  The sunsets here are amazing!"
Mmmhmm. I guess my life is pretty good. :)  So, when are you booking your trip to visit my world?  Next week we will be doing art lessons which should be fun too.  ;)

Day 8

June 17.  My third trip to Target in one week.  We needed to stock up on the Benedryl, bug repellent, and anti-itch creams- turns out my sister's littlest is totally allergic to mosquito bites; not a good mix in Minnesota.  I think we found 3? ticks in the week they were here...in the suburbs.  The bugs are definitely the down side to this state.  And the cold winters.  Just two things, but a very deterring two things.  My sister kept saying, "Oh it's so beautiful here.  Wouldn't be wonderful to go camping in those woods over there?"  "NO.  It wouldn't." would be my reply, and I always thought of myself as a camping person.  I love camping.  I don't love camping here.  Ticks are a plenty and disgusting.  Take a deep breath of that fresh air in the woods and you will get a mouthful of mosquitoes.  In the day.  Because in the woods it's shady like dusk all day long and humid.  It's yucky I'm telling you.  It's probably why most native Minnesotans have cabins.  Enjoy the pictures -it is beautiful here. :)  After Target we went to a park and rented canoes.  It was nice.  I'm more of a canoe type person than a speed boat person.  I like the relaxing smooth glide feeling of a canoe.

I think William is happiest in the dirt- if there is dirt he will dig

Brian's a fan of Shovel and Pail and Hello Kitty; Henry added a ballerina Hello Kitty (upside down)

nap time

Day 7

June 16.  A visit to more classic Minnesota- Split Rock Lighthouse on Lake Superior and Grandma's restaurant next to the lift bridge in Duluth.  It was rainy and foggy and misty.  I love that kind of weather so I took very many pictures-this is narrowing it down.
