Happy 19th Anniversary to Brian and me!  We spent it driving in the car for an extremely long time...everyone's anniversary dream ;-)
We did get to stop at Crater Lake, see Bigfoot, think about the oddities of Oregon (and the great things too), nearly miss a few animals on the road...and a take a lot of pictures. :-)

Oregon, what's up? Vegetarian seafood shop? Women in long skirts riding bikes in the middle of the woods...in the very dark, along the highway?
I need to get these people  some reflective tape.

We saw A LOT of people hitchhiking or just walking on the highway- even large groups of people with pet dogs.  That seems really unsafe to me.
Also on our Oregon journey we nearly missed hitting a deer, an owl or some type of bird chasing a scurrying rodent of some kind, a mystery animal we are thinking might have been a porcupine, a cat, and a coyote.  I think that's more wildlife than we saw going through Yellowstone ;-). 
We also learned that Brian has enough Red Hot Chili Peppers songs to cross the entire state of Oregon...ok, maybe just half the state.

Sunday we went to Sacrament meeting with Rodney and his girlfriend Jesentia.  We had some lunch and decided to visit Ashland.  A city that I've heard fits the stereotypes of Oregon.  We had a great time at the park.  Rodney introduced us to the magical spring water of Ashland, and taught us some tai chi. :-) After the park Rodney and Jesentia made us a yummy dinner of orange chicken.  We ate it as a picnic on his back patio.  It was very nice. :-)

A race to the top- Brian claims he won, but the random girl at the park picked Rodney as the winner, but Brian thinks it's just because he's younger ;-)

Saturday was our second day at Rodney's.  William and Henry have wanted to go to the Jedediah Smith Redwood Forest where Star Wars Return of the Jedi was filmed.  You know, the beloved land of the Ewoks.  It really is a magical place. :-)

We also went to Crescent City to see a light house, but it was closed by  the time we got there.  We still had fun finding seals, starfish, hermit crabs, sea cucumbers, sea anemones, and merbutlers :-)

After our fun filled day we had a late dinner at a fun Mexican restaurant :-) (They don't have this in Minnesota)
